Misfits Mid-Life Crisis Adventures in East, South West, South London. And Surrey (The NEXT Chapter).
Week 282 Saturday 9th until Friday 15th November 2019.
Leaving work is the best part of the working day. The last hour of the day is the most stressful, going through my mind are things like “will a telephone call come through seconds before 5pm” and “will I manage to rush up the road in time for the train”. As soon as I can leave there’s no looking back, I only have one thing on my mind, to get home!
“Now that’s what i call train delays”.
Earlier this week something strange happened. 5pm came, I left, caught the train, made my connection onto the tube and sat there and allowed my brain to melt as I watched rubbish on the tablet. As I reached my home station I realised that there was nothing on my lap. Normally there is a brightly coloured rucksack which contains my entire world resting on my legs. That evening nothing! Luckily everyone else was so wrapped up with their own shiz, no one noticed me looking around confused. I hadn’t fallen asleep, but also couldn’t remember having it on the earlier train!
“This is my regular look now”.
Because I don’t get home until late there was no one to ring, I had to be patient and wait for the next morning. At this point I am pleased to report that the bag was on my desk. This however made me think (yes that’s a new concept I know). Didn’t anyone in the office question the fact that a bag was left on its own (maybe they knew it was mine and thought I was returning). If there is security do they patrol, they didn’t appear to notice a bright large pack sitting on a desk!
“Gold stars to both”.
It had been a practically stressful day; my mind really was frazzled and couldn’t take much more. The bag incident makes me realise even more that I need to find alternative work. Leaving a bag that I always have and really does hold everything important is a little worrying really. It’s a little like leaving home in the morning without certain important clothes on. Early next year I have to find something less stressful and nearer home (I realises this was being moaned about 12 months ago). I am now a lot more careful with the bag; if I lost it life would be a lot more difficult than I already make it. I need to slow down and think before just racing away like famed cartoon sprinter “Road Runner “.
“Taken at about 6pm. I love this time of year”.
And Now For Something Completley Different……
“So-called Food art at work”.
Over the years I have had some nightmare neighbours. One of the worst was a man that banged on our shared wall at all hours of the day and night. I moved soon after he knocked at my door in a puddle of blood because he had passed a couple of kidney stone. Yes, I did call an ambulance! And no, I never found out about the banging on the wall!
“Excellent street art in Croydon”.
Living in the capital is stressful enough without having to worry about the neighbours. Are they going to be nosey and a pain in the arse? Because our walls are thin I can often hear the young children destroying their house. They are a lovely friendly family, the young children are nice. This all changed last weekend! Sitting minding my own busy mid-afternoon, I suddenly heard something that made all the hairs on my neck stand up. I could hear faintly a monotonous tune “Baby Shark doo doo, doo doo doo doo Baby Shark doo doo, doo doo doo doo”.
“A friend in the bathroom”.
I remember when my nephew and niece discovered this in 2017 as this so-called song spread across the world like a plague. Because I don’t live with them it wasn’t too bad I was able to leave them with their poor parents having to listening to the mundane lyrics on constant loop. But having it next door is different; I can’t remember how long it took my little ones to grow out of the craze.
“In bed chatting with Hel”.
Next weekend if all I hear is that tune I may have to buy lots of eggs. The empty boxes could be used to soundproof the walls. While the eggs will come in handy if I need to throw them at the neighbour’s windows. Maybe this might wake the parents up. The kids might have had enough of parental rule and overthrown them surely no sensible adult would look on the web for this. Of course I am just jealous that someone came up with a very simple idea and made squillions from the torture of everyday upstanding citizens all over the world.
This got me thinking, it’s only a matter of time before those children discover the Lego movies “everything is awesome“. I’m not sure what’s worse. Maybe it’s time to build an underground shelter in the garden for future use.
“MOZ shaking and milking her nut”.
MOZ said “do you want to put your thing on”. I looked at her confused and said “my thing?” She repeated “Your thing”. There was a pause as she finally said “You’re new DVD, The Thing” (a deluxe version of the 1982 classic). After the bag incident I really am starting to about myself.
“This little lady send her love”.
This week nephew Jbomb learnt to whistle. His dad sent me a video, but during the recording he forgot how to do it saying with frustration “my lips don’t work”.
“Writing this Shiz with a smile as Jodie and co appear on Children in Need 2019”.
