Lockdown Week, Одиннадцать.

The good weather this week has brought all the usual pleasant sights and sounds of Spring in the garden.  A large number of birds on the feeders, Squirrels trying to steal from the feeders that run along the top of the fence at speed when discovered.  All the local cats can be seen patrolling or relaxing in the sun.  Sadly, birds and cats are not a perfect combination.  On a couple of occasions I have used my CSI skills (I knew watching hundreds of hours of the US TV forensics drama would come in useful one day) when confronted by a pile of feathers.  No bodies were found!

20200605_21053920200605_210611 “Cheese”.

With every positive, there are negatives.  A number of neighbours this week, saw the sun shining and decided to opened their windows and entertain everyone around by cranking up the volume to 11.  I love music, but would never impose my (lack of) taste on others!

20200606_205855 “Evening view from the office”.

Then there are bonfires.  Lockdown has given people time to work on their homes and gardens.  Due to recent restrictions concerning travel or the closure of recycling centres (which have reopened, though some I believe have restricted opening hours) households have an excess of shiz to get rid of.  Because the hot yellow ball in the sky is out, what better way to do that, set fire to it!  There are rules and regs about when a bonfire can be lit, but who in 2020 bother with them anymore.

I have said before that personally lockdown has been good for me.  I like working from home and hope that I will be able to continue to do so for a long time.  It’s just the actions of other that make working from home is warmer weather a little uncomfortable.  The simple answer, I’ll shut the window put the desk fan on and continue watching nature through the window and carry on with work.  As soon as the coast is clear I’ll open everything up and enjoy spring at its best.

And Finally……

20200607_021858 “Dobby, wasn’t impressed”.

Loved watching the successful launch (second attempt) on Saturday of Space X/NASA Demo-2.  I particularly enjoyed the hours of pre-launch programming on NASA TV.  The highlight was a video message from Sci-fi legend Bill Shatner to astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley wishing them a safe journey.  As the Falcon 9 lifted off the historic pad 39a, I toasted the occasion with a shot glass full of “JD Fire”.

20200607_022055 “Distracted by a drink and a rocket, while writing this”.

Also,

Sitting at work late Tuesday morning, being distracted by the lovely smell of cooking from next door.

Lockdown Week, Dahaya.

Happy Bday, Paul on 29th

20200525_233607 “A very quick rough Doodle stamp went to my brother”.

I was off last week, holidaying at home.  Getting up for work last Tuesday was tough especially when the bin men (I am not blaming them; they do a vital job) woke me up 20 mins before my smart speakers was due to shout at me (it’s great for listening to music. But as an alarm “she’s” a pain in my lardy ass.  Of course, I realise there are other alarm options, but this one is convenient, and I am lazy).  That extra 20 mins in bed would have been nice though if I was really honest.

20200530_21524220200530_191333 “Look at the size of this”.

During the 10 weeks of lockdown I have got used to a routine while setting up my little office in the corner of the living room.  But that week of relaxing and doing nothing has had the effect that when I returned to work I really didn’t seem to remember anything I normally do five days a week.  And don’t get me started about remembering all the bloody passwords!  Typing seemed to be something that I had forgotten (not that I have ever been good at it) luckily my chubby digits are better at remembering than the sponge in my skull, within a few minutes of jabbing at the keyboard the screen started to make sense.  And this blog was able to be written.

20200528_151439 “Thanks Hel, for this pic of mum on Zoom”.

Holidays are great, returning to work is always tough.  Working and holidaying at home makes things even more different.

20200527_115149 “Yes, i did enjoy brekkie one morning this week”.

And Now For Something Completely Different……

20200526_183024 “Just keep peddling, just keep peddling”.

Last year I lost weight because I was as heavy as a baby Elephant.  However over the last 12 months sadly I have regained a little (though I am still a stone lighter than last summer).  A couple of weeks ago I decided that I should try to use this lockdown productively.

Screenshot_20200525-150007_Video Player “Don’t panic, this is in the back garden”.

Recently I have been doing 30 mins during lunchtime and an additional 15 minutes after work on the exercise bike, as well as a couple of different weight routines.  It’s not just me but my friend who I live with who has started to exercise.  All of this is done in the living room, because we work in the same room there are times when one of use might be stretching and pumping iron while the other is busy working.

20200529_195306 “Thursday around 20.00pm”.

On Wednesday, while speaking to a customer on the phone I became aware that behind me I could hear moaning and groaning as my friend was standing directly behind exercising.  It went through my mind that the person on the phone might think A/ I was watching porn or B/ friends were nearby “at it”!  The man on the phone didn’t comment on the strange sounds if they did hear.  I did have a problem keeping a straight face while trying to talking total shiz.

20200529_194839 “Various pieces of shiz in different stages of development.  Don’t worry, non will be seen in a gallery”.

After the call, I mentioned all of this to my friend who was on the floor huffing and puffing.  I am actually enjoying this hard sweaty working out.  Maybe this might be another reason lockdown is good for me.

20200525_220618 “See i am enjoying Lockdown”.

And Finally……

On Friday I ripped a toenail off while rushing to shut off the morning alarm.  I desperately didn’t want to wake the household or the neighbours up.  But in the end I think I made even more noise due to my swearing.

Week 309 Saturday 16th  May until Friday 22nd May 2020.

Lockdown Week, Neder.

Happy B’day to Spike, who was 19 years old on 18th May.

IMG-20200518-WA0003[1]

This week I have been on holiday.  Of course I didn’t go anywhere, apart from a walk around a local park and a couple of visits to the shops (I can’t say a quick shopping trip, due to all the queuing).

Screenshot_20200518-163755_WhatsApp[1] “Lovely lockdown chat with the Isle of Wight”.

This last week I have really enjoyed sleeping in late every morning (of course most nights I went to bed extremely late.  On a couple of occasions it was dawn outside and the birds had started to sing as I lay down to close my eyes).

20200521_151443 “Broccoli on the left, Carrots on the right”.

I am not a natural gardener but have spent a lot of time the last few days in the sunshine (smothered in my favourite brand of factor 50 of course) trying to help my friend in her garden.  A couple of months ago I was given lots of seeds in small biodegradable pots for kids to grow.  This week because I don’t know when I’ll see the little ones again, I thought I might as well have a go.  Sitting in the shade for a couple of hours getting muddy, sowing the seeds really was enjoyable.  Fingers crossed that something grows.

20200520_23043320200523_190014 “Something is growing”.

While in the garden I also made sure that the bird feeders were clean and well stocked up.  Plus built a new one, which is much taller than I thought (hopefully the skilled pilots circling above the house in the Lambourne stack, waiting to approach and land at London Heathrow will navigate around the feeder).  Note to self, read the box for height next time.

20200523_162117 “Cheese”.

It’s been a nice relaxing week; yes it would have been good to have visited family or gone away.  I was originally meant to be finishing work this week, and going off on my trip in Europe on 1st June.  But of course all of that is on hold now.  Next week I will continue to homework, while sitting in the living room I must be grateful that I have a job.  Recently so many have lost there’s, I must be mindful of this and not complain that I don’t enjoy what I do.  Plus the additional money will allow me to spend more time away in 2021.

20200523_192542 “Is this the culprit who knocked over the old feeding station.  The authorities have been informed and are looking for this scoundrel”.

Yes, I had a good week with nothing to moan about. In all the years of this ramble this must be a first.  I’ll make sure that next week is back to normal, moaning about everything.

Week 308, Saturday 9th until Friday 15th May 2020.

Misfits Mid-Life Crisis Adventures in East London (inc one trip to the Post Office, to send a very special B’day greeting for next week).

Week 308 Saturday 9th  May until Friday 15th May 2020.

Lockdown Week, Astuoniu.

img-1460649577030-v

This week I realised that lockdown is having an effect on me.  I am really having issues remembering what day it is, I regularly sit in the corner of the living room wondering “is it Tuesday or Wednesday” and finding that it’s “Thursday”.  This lockdown phenomenon is not just confined to me, it appears to be spreading.  My friend homeworking across the same living room is also suffering this “lockdown memory loss”.  It’s probably good that we are locked down and only going out occasionally, I wouldn’t want others to catch this problem.

20200509_153904 “Someones proud of her Tomatoes”,

Seriously the reason this is happening is I am less stressed, lockdown suits me.  The fact that I don’t have to travel for 15 hrs on a good week on the tube, then sitting in an extremely noisy office Monday to Friday is making me feel more relaxed.  For the first time in a very long time my work / life balance is dare I say, “balanced”.  If any good is coming out of the current circumstances, it’s the way “we” (not everyone I realise, but certainly a huge percentage of working people) work and commute, these changes are suiting me and many others.

20200509_164504 “Lots more seeds planted.  Its the start of being self  sufficient”.

Forgetting the day is really is not an issue; it’s a funny side effect of the way I am living at the moment.  I am sure that there are a lot of people out there who also scratch their heads trying to remember something as simple as is it Tuesday or Wednesday?

20200515_084344 “Still no talent”.

And Now For Something Completely Different……

20200512_154113 “Always room for a Chewie pic”.

Have you noticed that so many people are using lockdown to be creative?  I am not talking about professional singers, actors and other “lovey darling” type people switching on their small electronic device to say hello to the world.  A great many of them are doing this to raise money for charity and not just to inflate there already over engorged ego, so there is some good in the world.  I’m talking about “us” the normal people who are using downtime that they have during lockdown to present to the world what they have made or can (and in some case cannot) do.

20200513_143856 “Would you believe me if i said this was a new Banksy”.

There really has been an explosion in podcasts, vlogs, blogs and live presentations on all your favourite socials.  People just want to have a go, maybe make others smile and just to say “things are not so bad really”.  Ever since this uncertain period commenced, I have wanted to produce a pod or vlog (don’t worry I wouldn’t be singing or dancing. Stripping! Emmmm that might make people laugh).  But as usual time has passed and our lockdown has been loosened (like a tight belt) slightly, all I have done (apart from work) is sit on my lardy behind (though, I have been painting and writing this shiz every week).  If these last few weeks have taught me anything, I need to stand up more, walk around and press record on my electronic device and hope for the best.

20200506_201039 “Popped out for a few essential supplies”.

And Finally……

My friend has possibly created a new word “tiffy”, a combo of tipsy and squiffy.  She might have been drinking; I am not at liberty to confirm or deny this (however if you send me a 1 pound note taped to a gold brick with a lemon wrapped around it. And leave it beside the 3rd bin on the left outside “Anoodles & Jbombs” closed Kabab establishment on the high street, and I’ll tell you everything).  If “tiffy” is not in the Oxford English Dictionary by the end of the year, I’ll eat your hat! #letsmaketiffyawordintheOED

20200509_151226 “Hard at work, honest!”,

Lockdown slob, diary “day, 53”.  My mug had been drained and I needed another injection of caffeine (I am definitely drinking more, coffee.  Nothing more serious, yet!).  Walking to the kitchen I glanced into my mug (let’s be honest this is not something I/you/we normally do) and felt queasy, because at the bottom was what can only be described as chucks.  I didn’t remember spewing that morning and the Hamster had not been up, so he wasn’t responsible for leaving me a gift.  That’s when I remembered I had used the same spoon in my porridge and the coffee!  Such a rookie lockdown mistake I must remember to use two spoons, which might result in me, being nicknamed “Dana, Two Spoons Lucas”.

Happy Bday Claire, this week.

20200508_182857Happy Bday Claire, 3 friends chatting on Zoom, with an old bag joining in”.

Two days before Lock down (is this one word or two, I keep seeing it written differently) my friend who I live with and myself adopted a tiny hamster.  During the following weeks we have really got to know our new housemate.  I like to think of him as a teenage boy, this is because he spends pretty much all day in bed only getting up to eat.  Sometimes he doesn’t actually get up, his head pokes out of the bedding and if he can reach food he will pull it under, like an aquatic predator dragging prey under the water.  It was because of an occasion like that, that he earned his nickname “little musty bum shiz face“.  His extremely cute face appeared looking around to see what tasty treat he could nibble on.  But what made us laugh was stuck to his cheek was a small oval shaped poo.  We really are embarrassing adopted parents.

20200508_18240920200508_182351 “Our little boy, just having a look around.  But staying in bed”.

At this point I must say I do realise that these delightful mammals are generally nocturnal, but our previous adopted Hamster liked to be out and appeared to want contact with us.  I suppose we hoped that our boy would be like our little girl used to be.  But of course, they are very much individual with different likes and dislikes.

20200508_022202 “Lock down art.  I like to think its art, but i’m not fooling myself”.

During these last weeks the living room has become our office as we are both working from home.  But all work stops whenever a sounds comes from the direction of his cage, or penthouse as I like to think of it.  We stand over it trying to locate where he has hidden himself.  The Hamster might be small, but he knows how to play us, he really is the head of this household.

20200506_144354 “My stunt double looks almost presentable in the park at lunchtime”.

And Now For Something Completely Different……

20200506_185418 “The Rat running along the waterline was far more interesting than the Squirrel”.

Early one morning I opened the window expecting to hear the birds singing as they feed on the various feeders in the garden.  Instead what I heard was a sound that can only describe as multiple metal springs being stretched back and forth very quickly.  Somewhere near there was a trampoline being abused?  I am happy to report that it stopped after 10 mins, and so far I haven’t heard that metal against metal grating sound again.  But If I do and it becomes an annoyance, I might have to try and bribe the growing number of urban foxes (due to less traffic and people milling around these last few weeks) to locate the trampoline in the middle and put it out of its misery.  Surly one of the Foxes must have a circular saw or an oxyacetylene torch.  British wildlife is known for being very clever and inventive.

20200507_215147 “Another busy home worker”.

And Finally……

20200506_144249 “And the winner of the Lock Down Kenneth Williams impersonation competition is…..”

Just before watching the terrible (recently I have been re-watching all of the Carry On films,1958 to 1978 and 1992) “Carry On, Emmannuelle”, my friend called the female lead Suzanne Dildo, her surname is Danielle.  Somehow this seemed fitting considering the (lack of) storyline.

20200507_161150[1] “How cute is this little one.  Don’t worry the birds on feeders are always looking out”.

This week I noticed that this ramble got its first view from Venezuela.  Bueno dias, burns trades or burns noches.

20200508_181924[1]20200508_182028[1] “Mum and Hel enjoying the VE day celebrations in there road.  The house was decorated by mums lovely neighbours”.

A couple of weeks ago a relative sent me a message saying that they didn’t think that particular blog was very good.  Last week they got in contact again, telling me how much better the blog was.  I’m a little concerned about what they will make of this week’s ramble.  If there isn’t a blog next week, you know I have had to go into witness protection.  It’s been fun while it lasted.

20200507_172055 “Writing this Shiz, but very distracted by planes landing on BIG Jet TV”.

Week 306, Saturday 25th April until Friday 1st May 2020.

Misfits Mid-Life Crisis Adventures in East London (inc rushing into the garden early morning in the rain to chase a squirrel off the brid feeder).

Week 306 Saturday 25th April until Friday 1st May 2020.

Lockdown Week, Luhk.

img-1460649577030-v
Hello, my name is Dana (pause, for you to say, “Hello Dana” back. Play along, you don’t have much else to do these days) and I am addicted to Bombay Mix. I have loved the spicy baked treat since childhood (I realise there a choking hazard! But I am a child of the 70s. We’re a tough bunch, playing in dirt, eating worms [just me then!] falling out of trees, making go carts that fall apart, riding bicycles all day, scrumping and being chased by every dog. All of this has made me the Woman I am today).

20200428_214509 “Chasing this rascal away in the rain”.

My addiction became real earlier this week. Picture the scene, Tuesday morning, it’s raining, I had 15 minutes until logging on to the work computer in the living room. The kettle was boiling to make a coffee and to pour over porridge (Just in case you want my recipe, here it is! Pour oats into a bowl, add natural yogurt, scatter fresh fruit including a whole banana. Then drown with boiling water and oat milk [or your choice of milk such as Gnat, Bat, Whale whatever you fancy]. Finally stir vigorously and enjoy).

20200429_121024 “Opps, it suddenly became empty”.

It was while rummaging in a cupboard for the porridge that I noticed a recycled plastic pot containing 230g of Bombay mix. Without thinking I opened it and shovelled a large handful into my mouth. Over the next couple of minutes, I continued to return and mouth as much as possible. On the way to the living room to start work, I stopped and looked in the cupboard one last time. The recycled container sat looking very sad due to being almost empty, I couldn’t leave it like that, I needed to put it out of its misery. When I sat at the living room table and logged on, I probably looked like a manic Hamster munching away with cheeks bulging. Once the computer was warmed up I enjoyed my semi warm lumpy brekkie.

20200427_150152 “Lunch! anyone?”.

I have written this because I wanted to reach out to other Bombay Mix addicts. There really is no need to suffer in silence anymore. Let’s get together (virtually of course) to support and help each other during these difficult times.

And Now For Something Completely Different……

Screenshot_20200426-160620_WhatsAppScreenshot_20200426-153452_WhatsApp “Chin, chin, chin”.

Going to the Dr is such a personal thing, were all used to standing at the reception desk whispering embarrassingly our name and address. Due to the current circumstances everything has changed.

20200430_163238 “A couple of random shiz doodles from this week”.

When I visited my surgery earlier this week, I had to shout all my personal information partly because of standing a couple of metres In front of the desk. But mainly due to the plastic protective screen that had been erected with only a small slot at the bottom for a piece of paper to be passed through. The women on the other side of the screen couldn’t hear me, and I her!

20200501_160135 “Another reason to enjoy working from home”.

By the time I left, my personal information had not only been received clearly inside the booth, but to everyone sitting waiting to be seen. Thankfully I wasn’t there because of anything embarrassing. It’s going to take time to get used to this brave new world.

20200501_124015 “After years of being ignored, these signs finally have a use”.

And Finally……

Watching “Killing Eve” and wondering if hitmen/women’s work has dried up due to recent travel ban and social distancing. The current restrictions might have the reverse effect on long distance snipers being offered extra work. Just a thought!

Also

During a break one afternoon, my friend said from the kitchen “once you get through the skin, it’s really soft inside”. She was cutting a very large Watermelon.

I haven’t felt well this week, don’t worry it’s not the big “V”, but migraines.  When I have an attack it can last for days (this has) and I just want to sleep.  Because I am working from home, going sick was a concern.  I felt like a fraud, expecting my boss to contact me saying “you’re at home, women! Get downstairs and answer the damn phone!”, they didn’t.  Writing this I am looking at a screen but this is going to be a short ramble.  But looking at the computer and answering the phone (remember I’m a phone monkey in a call centre) all day with a migraine really doesn’t mix.

20200422_141038 “Ok, this was posed.  Hoping to surprise my Niece.  It didn’t!”.

If it’s ok for you I will stop this week’s blog here.  I have plenty to say, but the head just aches too much.  Next week will be a fuller ramble about life in lock down.  But before I go I’ll leave you with this.

20200422_234227 “Cut my self very late at night, trying to change a light bulb.  I am ok, don’t worry the emergency services didn’t need to be sent”.

And Finally……

20200417_142157 “Enjoyed the local park, while on my daily walk”.

Earlier in the week desperately trying to keep a straight face while at work on the phone.  This was because my friend working in another corner farted.  We are spending far too much time together.

20200417_142557 Lovely being outside for a few mins”.

I said “lakey eggs”, I meant “achy legs“.  I blame the migraine for the confusion.

20200424_16000720200424_160157 Always nice chatting with family,  Look forward to when we can actually meet up in person again”.

20200424_155505 “Lock down art.  I don’t know if any of this shiz can be called art”.

20200420_202126 “This might be why my head has been bad all week”.

20200417_150220 “This little chap is getting used to being snapped by the papps all the time”.

Week 304, Saturday 11th until Friday 17th April 2020.

Misfits Mid-Life Crisis Adventures in East London (inc going out to cut the back garden grass).

Week 304 Saturday 11th  until Friday 17th April 2020.

Lockdown Week, Vier.

IMG-20200412-WA0000

Hope you had a good Easter.  I embraced technology to contact loved ones and attempted to impress small children by stuffing a whole chocolate egg in my mouth.  They weren’t impressed at all!

20200416_220139 “Chewie enjoying his Easter treat”.

Sadly last weekend I heard that a friend, Andy who I grew up with during teenage years and more recently had a lot of online contact with sadly died.  My thoughts are with his wife and family.  There have been several notable celebrity deaths during the last seven days.  The one that resonated with me was the passing of Tim Brooke-Taylor.  That’s another comedy legend I sadly never met.  But what a legacy of work he left behind, Tim will continue to make me and others laugh for many years to come.

20200418_193949 “Its not all mine, honest!”.

And Now This……

IMG-20200411-WA0005 “Its hard work this gardening”.

Like a lot of people working from home, I have used some of the time to read articles, watch news reports which I wouldn’t normally have seen.  Something that has interested me about the global lockdown is how animals all over the world have started to reclaim normally overpopulated areas.  Also, pollution levels have dropped across the planet as a result of us meat sacks staying at home.  Very clever experts had previously said that nature would take a while to recover what we have claimed as ours.  However this lockdown has shown that Mother Nature doesn’t waste time in trying to cover up the fact that we ever existed.  Humans might be intelligent, but we really are replaceable.

IMG-20200412-WA0038 “Was this the picture, i wasn’t supposed to publish?”.

What I am about to type is not thought through; there is no scientific basis to any of this. Remember I am a call centre monkey and not an expert in anything.  Humans have affected the planet in many devastating ways, what if every year there was a period of lockdown to allow the planet to recharge and take a deep breath.  This current enforced lockdown has changed everything about our lives; the way we work, travel, connect with others and even shop.  All of this will have effects on our lives for years to come.  Of course, it goes without saying that I would prefer that there wasn’t the huge loss of life across the world.  But I do think some form of lockdown might help us and the planet.

20200413_183338 “Are Vodka Jelly Bears, classed as cooking”.

I mentioned this last week but for me personally the lockdown is not a problem, I like staying at home.  I could easily become a person with agoraphobia and not step outside again and be happy.

20200413_18000320200413_180049 “Very impressed at the Slugs social distancing.  Was worried about the labybird, as the red thing in front was non organic”.

And Now For Something Completely Different……

IMG-20200413-WA0023IMG-20200413-WA0000 “Thanks to my sister Hel, for these pics.  These pavement messages were seen near her house”.

At this time I would like to pay tribute to an essential service that many of us (including me) never really think about.  The Postal (Postman/Woman) delivery person let me explain.

20200416_115409 “Shhhh, dont make a noise.  You might wake Chewie”.

Last week I ordered a couple of Easter (nonedible) prezzies.  Tracking the gifts, I knew that they were “hand delivered last Saturday at 18.34”.  But it soon became apparent that nothing had actually arrived at the address.  Checking the order, I discovered I had messed up (you wouldn’t expect anything else, would you) again.  In the mobile phone field, I had added the door number.  Personally, I am surprised that the ordering system hadn’t questioned the incorrect number and stopped the order from being confirmed.  Something that really puzzled me was how the delivery person decided what door to drop the package off at.  After a moment of panic and frustration, I reordered the items making sure that the address was correct.  At the time of writing, I haven’t heard from the famous internet shopping site customer services team (I’m not surprised).

20200415_143123 “Nice to see shadows social distancing”.

Tuesday afternoon, not only did the emergency second order arrive, but the original one turned up as well.  The lovely (I wasn’t calling them that over the weekend) accidental recipient who lived in the same postcode as my friend must have kept the package safe until after the bank holiday, then handed it to the Postie who must have recognised the surname.

20200415_192313 “Hello RAC”.

Bank holiday lessons learned, check when ordering online.  Always smile at a Posties, there forgotten heroes under the current circumstances.  Plus, I won’t be giving a five-star rating when I get an email asking how my recent shopping experience was.

20200413_153358 “Siphoning water out of a huge barrel.  There was something therapeutic about doing this.  After 17 full watering cans, i was able to tip the barrel over and empty the rest.

Just so you know, my friends loved the gifts, both sets 😊

And Finally……

Heard my friend say from the kitchen, “The tip is dripping”.  Don’t worry she was talking about the new Hamster water bottle.

Sitting working in the living room, my friend called enthusiastically from another as if she had won the lottery, “I’ve got a slot”.  After a pause she told me that the slot was for online shopping.  The way things are at the moment there’s more chance in winning the lottery than getting a shopping slot.

Week 303, Saturday 4th until Friday 10th April 2020.

Misfits Mid-Life Crisis Adventures in East London (inc going out to cut the front garden grass).

Week 303 Saturday 4th  until Friday 10th April 2020.

Lockdown, Week Tres.

IMG_5830

This blog’s is SO late.  The reason, is because I am a member of a very small club who doesn’t mind being locked down.  In fact I am never happier than being at home.  I have actually spent years not wanting to go out and desperately tried to find any reason not to go out to see someone, meet others or do something away from the building I call home.  These recent weeks have really made me realise that I have Agoraphobic tendency’s.  Once the lock down is over, of course I will go out and about again, but if I can stay at home and do something remote such as work at home, skype or face time friends then I will.  Don’t worry I don’t think I actually have acrophobia, I am just saying that if I can stay at home and never go out I would.

This week there has been a lot of car action.  My life has almost been like an episode of Top Gear.

That’s enough about cars…

Due to being so late, nothing I have written really seems to appropriate now.  Instead what follows is a handful of pictures from the week.  Let’s hope next week I will be able to produce something a little more interesting, something that could be regarded as content.

Highlight Of The Week….

There is a pair of Robins that regularly visit the garden.  My highlight this week was seeing one give another a fat juicy worm.  This is something I have seen on TV so many times, but with my own eyes for the first time was truly a delight.

And Finally……

I heard my friend call from the back room one evening “I don’t know what I have done with the Olives”.  Please don’t be concerned about us and send a food parcel, the jar was located and those Olives complemented the meal perfectly.

Week 302, Saturday 28th March until Friday 3rd April 2020.

Misfits Mid-Life Crisis Adventures in East London (Popping out for a short walk, once a day).

Week 302 Saturday 28th  March until Friday 3rd April 2020.

Lockdown, Week Deux.

IMG_5830

Working from home, I have realised that there is a problem with a group of local hooligans. The bird feeder full of nuts is being attacked by a couple of squirrels.  Until this week I had only seen one, but all this week there have been two travelling in a pair.  One would wait on the fence patiently as the other gripped the metal frame containing the nuts as several birds looking on in frustration.  I am surprised that they haven’t ganged up on the mammals and fought them off.

20200330_104108 “Please print, and put on your lamppost”.

At the start of the week when I tap on the window the culprits would run away.  As the week progressed the gangster rodents have become more and more confident realising that I can’t do anything watching them through the window.  By Wednesday I was rattling the doorknob, which had an effect the first couple of occasions.  But once again, there not stupid and soon ignored me.  On Thursday I started down tools and go outside to chase Laurel and Hardy away.  Once they reach the bottom of the garden they sat on the fence and just stare back at me.  Even though I have a bigger and supposedly more intelligent brain, reading this I suspect you know who was really in control of the situation.

VideoCapture_20200315-19301020200403_095810 “And they keep coming back.  MOZ removing the feeder”.

As a result, I have temporarily removed the feeder, I got great satisfaction (is that pathetic, to feel like a winner against a couple of squirrels) watching them return to find nothing.  Don’t worry we have other feeders for our feathered friends, that at the time of writing this naughty pair haven’t attacked yet.  One good thing about this situation is that the birds are now nibbling at the fat balls which they normally ignore; I spent good money on a huge tub!

20200403_150015 “Little Fatty, from next door just waiting for Brekkie”.

Who would have though working from home would be so dramatic?

And Now For Something Completely Different……

20200405_120210 “A high status, snobby fruit”.

Have you ever thought of the faffiness (if this is not a word, then I want it to trend and be used as much as other words/phrases that until recently no one ever thought of or used, such as “social distancing” or “self-isolation”) of fruit.

20200329_11151420200329_111539 “So very faffy”.

It was while watched a friend peel/prepare a pineapple that I started to think.  If fruit could talk I imagine that a pineapple would consider itself to be very high status, upper class, looking down on everything else in the aisle because of the faffiness around it.  It’s the uneducated very lower class Grapes I feel sorry for, let not mention the seedless ones (they probably don’t get many mentions on a daily basis through the crates and shelves in the fruit and veg section of the supermarket).

20200403_162147 Faffing around”.

Reading the above there is a possibility I should to get out more than once a day, but due to the current government recommendation that’s not going to happen.  I feel sorry for my friend and the Hamster I live with, if the authorities are reading they may need to be extracted soon to preserve there sanity.  Oh by the way the pineapple was lovely, but they really are just so faffy.

20200328_200339 “Thanks MOZ for the lovely Omlette”.

And Finally……

My tipsy friend asked if I needed a something to put my Boombay mix.  She meant Bombay mix.

20200331_143716 “Spotted while out on my one walk a day.  You never know when you might need one”.

The phrase “gusty flaps” has made me laugh a lot over the course of the week.  I’ll leave it to your smutty imagination as to what it means. It’s very innocent, honest.

USER_SCOPED_TEMP_DATA_MSGR_PHOTO_FOR_UPLOAD_1583779828292 “The last time i was on the tube a few weeks ago.  Messing around with filters.  Dont worry.”.

Spoke to a man on the phone who mentioned that that after his name was an apostrophe (it hadn’t been put there by myself). I did notice it, but just thought it was dirt on my screen (Yes, I removed it).

chewie “Chewie, makes everything feel better”.

Noticed a few times while typing the date I was putting 30 as in 2030.  I didn’t correct it; I like the idea of screwing with future digital archaeologist minds.

20200322_153026 “My office in the corner of the Living room, has looked a lot like this over the week”.
