Misfits Mid-Life Crisis Adventures in East London (inc going out to cut the front garden grass).
Week 303 Saturday 4th until Friday 10th April 2020.
Lockdown, Week Tres.
This blog’s is SO late. The reason, is because I am a member of a very small club who doesn’t mind being locked down. In fact I am never happier than being at home. I have actually spent years not wanting to go out and desperately tried to find any reason not to go out to see someone, meet others or do something away from the building I call home. These recent weeks have really made me realise that I have Agoraphobic tendency’s. Once the lock down is over, of course I will go out and about again, but if I can stay at home and do something remote such as work at home, skype or face time friends then I will. Don’t worry I don’t think I actually have acrophobia, I am just saying that if I can stay at home and never go out I would.
This week there has been a lot of car action. My life has almost been like an episode of Top Gear.
“Spent a lunch time, trying to siphon petrol out of poor Artie. Wasn’t able to due to anti siphoning tech”.
“The courtesy car provided after the accident, i like to call it “The Beast”, its like a tank. I am stuck with it as the hire car company is closed due to the Lockdown. Luckily i have some lovely neighbours who have allowed it to be parked in there drive to keep it off road (after this pic was taken).
“Poor Artie, meeting “The Beast”.
“The heart breaking moment that we said goodbye to the loyal Artie. All because a total Frakwit 3 weeks ago wasn’t looking. Artie was 15yrs old, but had plenty of miles and years left in him. Very Sad.
“My friend new car to replace Artie which we have called “Fartie”, because he makes a strange farting noise when locked. By the way “The Beast” is still round the corner, so technically i am part of a two car household.
That’s enough about cars…
Due to being so late, nothing I have written really seems to appropriate now. Instead what follows is a handful of pictures from the week. Let’s hope next week I will be able to produce something a little more interesting, something that could be regarded as content.
“I knew i was being watched as i cut the front garden grass while drinking a mocktail”.
“Enjoying a lunchtime walk”.
“Seen while walking home, to get back to work in the living room”.
“I love making a mess with paints. But the paints and the pallet feel and look like art in there own right”.
“A doodle stamp, i hope the friend will still talk to me”.
“Even the birds didn’t want an Apple that had turned. When this pic was taken the Apple had been outside for a few weeks. I think it looks a little artist. Maybe just me then.
“Thank you Jane for this pic of Spike social distancing himself from Will the Doorstop in Sutton. Spike will be 19 next month, i’m hoping the lockdown will be over by then so i can visit”.
“Really enjoyed Mike Skippers Saturday Lockdown Quiz, 2pm UK time. (Mikes screenshot used with permission).
“I never tire of the Moon. I really do love seeing the Moon.
“MOZ made a huge pot of very tasty Broccoli soup”.
“Over the course of the week i spoke to a few friends all over the world. The two that allowed me to use their pics were my friend of 40 yrs George (he doesn’t look old enough to have been my mate that long, I know), and my niece Anoodle, showing me her homemade Tie-Dye clothing.
“Supermarket self service Jenga”.
“One more car. This for Moira, spotted in the supermarket carpark”.
“There needs to be a pic of Chewie”.
Highlight Of The Week….
There is a pair of Robins that regularly visit the garden. My highlight this week was seeing one give another a fat juicy worm. This is something I have seen on TV so many times, but with my own eyes for the first time was truly a delight.
“I love to see all the birds that visit the garden. But there is something so special about a Robin”.
And Finally……
I heard my friend call from the back room one evening “I don’t know what I have done with the Olives”. Please don’t be concerned about us and send a food parcel, the jar was located and those Olives complemented the meal perfectly.
“Deffo a reason this ramble is so late. I spent a lot of time this last week watching Mae Martin and Charlotte Richie in Channel 4’s “Feel Good”.
