Week 349, Saturday 20th until Friday 26th February 2021.

Misfits Mid-Life Crisis Adventures in East London (Week 8 of Lockdown the Third).

Week 349 Saturday 20thuntil Friday 26thFebruary 2021.

Happy b’day this week to Jbomb and Amelia.

In the past when I have been asked what my favourite season is, I usually reply without thinking “Winter“.  The idea of darkness in the afternoon appeals because I feel I can hide and not be noticed even though there are so many others around.  Of course in the capital it’s never really dark because of all the light pollution.  In the old days sitting at work in the office and seeing the darkness outside always made me happy.

This week I realised that maybe I have a new favourite season, “Spring”.  All round I can see the signs that better weather (if I am honest here in London, winter has not been bad, compared to other areas of the UK) is on the way.  I have mentioned before that over this last year I have got great pleasure from just standing and looking out of the window watching the birds feeding.  Earlier this week while filling up the feeders I noticed buds sprouting on bushes and trees all around.  I have also started to see birds with feathers, grass and other things held in there breaks, are they starting to make nests.  New life is everywhere.

After work one early evening, I popped in to a local park with my Digital SLR camera to see if I could capture the signs of the changing of the season.  Admittedly, I am a little early there wasn’t the amount of blossom on the trees I was expecting.  Over the coming weeks I will have to return and document the beautiful changes taking place.

And Now For Something Completely Different……

Over the next few weeks and mouths we are slowly coming out of lockdown.  I have said before that I am a member of a small exclusive club who has enjoyed staying at home, personally I don’t want to go out and am not looking forward to the “world” returning to the way it was before.

Travelling was something I was looking forward to this year, because of the “the virus” I don’t know if I will be able to visit the locations I had intended.  Over the coming months I will have to make decisions.  If all else fails I am very tempted to get a small campervan and a tent and head to the Scottish Highlands and Islands.  I like the idea of being in a place with a small population, lots of wildlife and beautiful views.  The prospect of bad weather doesn’t bother me; remember I am at heart a winter gal.

Looking up, and dreaming on a jet plane.

And Finally……

I felt really sorry for a delivery man who knocked on the front door late one afternoon.  The poor man must have been very tired as in the few seconds we interacted he called me “love” and “darling”.   I’m hoping he gets professional help soon.  I would like to point out I rarely hear those words spoken in relation to me, so it was nice to hear.

Belly laugh of the week happened while a friend and I tried to remember all the names of the main female characters in “Charmed(1998-2006).  I was convinced my friend said “Poo”, she didn’t it was “Prue”.  Maybe you needed to be.
