Misfits Mid-Life Crisis Adventures in East London (Week 3 of Lockdown the Third).
Week 344 Saturday 16th until Friday 22nd January 2021.

Due to the continual lockdown, I have very little to say this week. This really could be the shortest ramble in the history of the blog.

Since March last year I have hardly got dressed. For instance, this week all I have worn are my PJ’s. Over the last 10 months I have bought a number of new sets, so I have plenty of clean comfy nightwear to wear all day long. I have no knowledge of business, but it wouldn’t surprise me if sales of bed clothes have shot up, while normal clothes have plummeted. If this is correct, I am available to talk about my new collection of PJ’s on BBC News if there looking for anyone to interview for their business/money segment.

Over the last 10 months I have heard so much about people dressing smartly at home because of Zoom and other virtual meetings and classes. But out of shot, they are slumming it in PJ’s and fluffy slippers. This week I finally joined the Zoom revolution, because I am taking part in a new weekly group meeting over the next few months. But because I really don’t care what others see, I still wore my PJ’s. I like to think that I am a trail blazer encouraging others attending to relax and just stay as they have been all day. Why rush around panicking just for a 30 to 40 min meeting. Maybe it’s because of this attitude that’s why I really haven’t made anything of my life. So if you do work from home and have been getting dressed every day, maybe you should continue to and don’t listen to me.

A few evenings ago I needed to pop out to post a card; the post box is only a few minutes away. In the past I probably would have gone to the bother of getting dressed only to change back when I returned. On this occasion I just pulled a coat and boots and left for the post box. Anyone that passed really wouldn’t have noticed if I was wearing a glittery ball gown and a feather boa, because they are so engrossed with their small electronic device or just trying to dodge others not making contact with strangers. I knew no one would notice my PJ trousers.

I used to be bothered how I looked while out, trying to make an effort. During this pandemic I have realised that there are far more important things to think and worry about than appearance.
And Finally……

During the animal round in Mike Skipper’s quiz, I said out loud to my friend that the answer to a question was “Windmill”. She looked with pity and said “the answer is an animal”. Oops!!!
